Beats: Start time: End time:

BPM:

This is a human-assisted BPM finder. To find the BPM value of your song, play the song and then just start tapping the beats by pressing keys such as spacebar or b. You can start at any time, but be sure to not skip a beat once you start. Stop when you feel it's enough, e.g. when the value seems to converge or stabilize. In my experience, you can get a good value after the first reff of the song. Pressing r resets the program. After you get the BPM value, you can for example put it into the metadata (ID3) of your MP3 songs or play the song in your electronic keyboard using the correct BPM.

It is licensed under GPL 2 and is programmed in JavaScript. The first ever BPM finder written in JavaScript? It works in Firefox 3 and IE7. I didn't test it on Opera and any other browsers, so let me know if it doesn't work (but Lynx/Links complains are automatically rejected). Anyway, if you find this program amusing or useful please drop some comments here.
