The heavy duty of Windows Task Manager - Memory leak?

Task Manager memory leak?

My memory usage was soaring past 1.5 GB, so I closed the main culprit, a Firefox 3 RC2 with 20+ tabs opened. As usual, I thought it was time to restarts other programs as well.

The second one eating lots of Memory is unsurprisingly OpenOffice.org. I only have 2 speadsheets open, but the computer have been hibernating on and off for days so the garbage is piling up. Close.

What surprised me was that Windows Task Manager ranked after that! It never happened before, so Task Manager must be really goofing off.

Paint.NET is a garbage-collected .NET program, so no wonder it gobbles up quite an amount.

EdictReader.exe is my console dictionary program that loads a ~7 MB EDICT text dictionary file. I really should upgrade it to use a proper database.

What’s your usual suspect if your system gets low on memory?
